From a statement issued by the Chamber of
Commerce, Industry and Agriculture:
Last week, the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama, together with other business guilds, authorities and international experts, through an extended discussion, addressed the strengthening of the electric energy sector in Panama, particularly the Transmission Company Electrical, SA (ETESA), in order to turn it into an entity that can compete in the private sector of energy transmission.
We believe that actions such as these are positive, above all, when dialogue between the public and private sectors is fundamental to finding alternatives on how to improve the operational efficiency of this state enterprise, which establishes the basis for working on concrete mechanisms in both this company and others that provide strategic services for the country.
